MANILA – The Department of Agriculture (DA) has ordered the mandatory registration of agricultural storage facilities across the country to strengthen monitoring and management of food supply.
In a news release, the DA announced the implementation of new guidelines for the Registry System for Agri Storage, requiring warehouses, cold storage facilities, and other agricultural logistics hubs to be officially registered.
Under the policy, all facilities that store agricultural and fishery products—whether owned, leased, or operated by third parties—must register through the DA Online Registration System.
The mandatory registration covers various storage facilities including rice warehouses, onion cold storage units, meat freezers, grain silos, refrigerated container vans, and agricultural storage tanks that handle both locally produced and imported products.
The DA said the measure aims to improve transparency, strengthen supply monitoring, and ensure the proper management of agricultural commodities in the country.
