Marcos Administration Launches National AI Center to Bridge Technology Gap

MANILA – The administration of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has launched the country’s first centralized hub for artificial intelligence research aimed at expanding access to advanced technology across the Philippines.

The initiative, called the National Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Innovation (NAICRI), was developed by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to help bring AI capabilities closer to provinces, small enterprises, and underserved communities.

The center is expected to support research, innovation, and collaboration in the field of Artificial Intelligence while helping reduce the technology gap between major urban areas and other parts of the country.

Through NAICRI, the government aims to make emerging technologies more accessible, enabling local businesses, academic institutions, and communities to benefit from AI-driven solutions and digital transformation initiatives.
