Garcia Earns Spikers’ Turf Player of the Week Honor

MANILA – Jude Garcia of Criss Cross King Crunchers was named Player of the Week by the Spikers' Turf Press Corps for the period of March 4 to 8 in the Spikers' Turf Open Conference.

The former Far Eastern University standout delivered strong performances against the 3B Even Masters and the Savouge Spin Doctors, helping the King Crunchers stay unbeaten in the first round of the 2026 tournament.

Garcia produced an impressive 26-point performance in Criss Cross’ 22-25, 25-10, 25-13, 25-15 victory over the Even Masters on March 6 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City. His output included 19 attacks, five blocks, and two service aces.

He also contributed 13 points in their 25-23, 29-27, 25-17 win against the Spin Doctors last Sunday.

Garcia noted that despite their undefeated run, the team must remain focused and continue working hard as other teams are eager to defeat them.

Garcia edged several contenders for the weekly award, including teammates Alche Gupiteo and Adrian Villados, as well as Louie Ramirez of Savouge, JM Ronquillo and Cian Silang of Alpha Insurance Protectors, and Jay Rack De La Noche of AEP Cabstars.

Garcia and the King Crunchers aim to maintain their winning streak as they face the Alpha Insurance Protectors in the second round on Wednesday at the FilOil Centre in San Juan City.
