Trump Claims Major Success in Strikes on Iran as Regional Conflict Intensifies

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that American military operations against Iran are progressing successfully, claiming that the country’s military capabilities have been severely weakened.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump described the ongoing airstrikes as highly effective.

“In Iran, we're doing very well. How would you score it from zero to 10? I said I'd give it a 12 to a 15,” he said.

Trump further asserted that Iran’s naval forces, communications systems, and much of its leadership structure had been eliminated. According to him, multiple tiers of Iranian leadership have already been lost.

He also claimed that the Iranian air force had been completely destroyed and said that the country’s fleet of 32 ships had been sunk.

The comments come amid rising tensions in the Middle East following airstrikes launched by the United States and Israel on Feb. 28. The attacks have reportedly killed more than 1,000 people, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, more than 150 schoolgirls, and several senior military officials.

Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting sites linked to the United States across the region. One drone attack in Kuwait reportedly killed six American service members stationed at a tactical operations center.

Meanwhile, the defense ministry of Saudi Arabia said its air defense systems intercepted four drones over the Empty Quarter that were heading toward the Shaybah Oil Field in the country’s southeastern region.

Officials said the drones were detected and neutralized before reaching their target, adding that no damage was reported at the oil facilities.
