Marcos Hosts ‘Tara sa Palasyo’ Christmas Celebration for Returning OFWs

MANILA — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families to Malacañang Palace for the “Tara sa Palasyo” Christmas celebration, a special event aimed at honoring the sacrifices of migrant workers and spreading holiday cheer.

Held at the Kalayaan Grounds, the festive gathering brought together around 400 OFWs and their loved ones for a day of family bonding, entertainment, and appreciation. The event was organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

President Marcos personally greeted the returning OFWs and joined them in various activities prepared for the occasion. The celebration featured live performances, film screenings, and family-friendly attractions designed to create a warm and festive atmosphere.

In a Facebook post, the President said the holiday season is a time to express gratitude to Filipinos who continue to make sacrifices for their families and the country, especially overseas workers whom he described as modern-day heroes.

“Through this Christmas offering for Overseas Filipino Workers, we sincerely extend our gratitude and remind them that they are not alone and that the government is always ready to support our modern-day heroes,” Marcos said as he shared his Christmas message to OFWs and their families.

One of the highlights of the program was a live performance by the top three winners of the OWWA Duets Singing Competition 2025, providing entertainment for the attendees.

As part of the Paskong Pinoy celebration, the classic Filipino film Anak, directed by Rory Quintos and starring Vilma Santos and Claudine Barretto, was also screened in tribute to the sacrifices OFWs make for their families while working abroad.

Now in its fourth year, “Tara sa Palasyo” opens the Palace grounds to the public during the Christmas season. The program offers a variety of activities including carnival rides for children, live music performances, movie screenings, and traditional Filipino holiday food.
